Conscious sedation : pharmacology
This online course is for all members of the dental team. It covers the knowledge required to understand the pharmacology of conscious sedation, and can be used as a verifiable CPD refresher for teams already providing sedation, or for those who want to find out more about it.

Aim
The aim of the learning and teaching materials in this Dentaljuce module is to allow learners to meet the training requirements for dental professionals set by the Royal Colleges in sedation-related pharmacology.
Course objective
- To improve and refine knowledge of sedation-related pharmacology
Anticipated learning outcomes:
The learner will:- know and apply their knowledge of the pharmacology of drugs used in sedation for safe practice
- know and apply their knowledge of relevant drug interactions
- understand the relevant pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics
- know the terminology describing levels of sedation
- through achieving these outcomes, provide an improved level of service to their patients.
