Behaviour change for Oral Health
Welcome to this Dentaljuce course on Behaviour Change, much of which references the "Delivering better oral health" toolkit provided by NHS England.
The course focuses on how to use behaviour change as a strategy in prevention of dental diseases, and discusses the techniques and interventions that will help dental professionals achieve this difficult task.

The aim of the learning and teaching materials in this Dentaljuce module is to allow learners to develop their professional knowledge and competence in changing patient behaviour to improve their oral health, in line with their identified personal learning requirements and the requirements of the UK NHS's "Delivering better oral health" toolkit.
Module objective
• to update members of the dental team with current best practice and techniques in changing patient behaviour.
Anticipated learning outcomes
The learner will:
• Understand the behaviours that support oral health.
• Understand the role of the dental team in changing behaviour.
• Learn about the COM-B model for changing behaviour.
• Know how to deal with resistance to behaviour change..
• through achieving these outcomes, provide an improved level of service to their patients.
